Cowgirl Netters Looking to End Skid
April 02, 2004 | Cowgirl Tennis
The Cowgirls (5-8, 1-4) hold an 8-1 all-time series lead against their Big 12 conference opponent. OSU won last year's meeting 7-0 at the DuBois Tennis Center.
“The girls have been working hard to get better,” head coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski said. “We are confident that we will perform well at doubles and realize that in order to win the match, we must start out with a strong doubles performance.”
Texas Tech (9-5, 2-3) is led by first year head coach Cari Groce. Groce is the daughter of the late OSU coaching legend Ike Groce. She served as an assistant coach for the Cowgirls before getting the head job at Tulsa.
After the trip to Lubbock, the Cowgirls will return home for a series of three matches.
“We feel like the two teams that compete this weekend will be fairly even,” Lubicz-Majewski said. “We are just going to come out and hope that we are the team that wants to win more.”
