Cowgirls Drop Fifth Straight Conference Match, 7-0

The match against last year's regular season Big 12 champions, No. 43 Baylor (11-10, 7-3) marked the fifth consecutive conference loss this year for OSU (6-12, 1-7).
In doubles play, the Cowgirls fell in two of the three bouts. At the No. 1 position, seniors Katya Kolodynska and Jana Karaskova fell 8-3 against Carolin Walter and Daria Potapova.
BU claimed the doubles team point at the second position where junior Ines Furtmayr and sophomore Zana Masnic fell to Klara Zrustova and Daniela Covello 8-4.
The lone victory on the day came at the No. 3 position where freshmen Lauren Simmons and Jennifer Poskitt defeated Steffi Balzert and Iva Mihaylova 8-5.
After Baylor took the lead, they never looked back, defeated all but one of the Cowgirls in straight sets.
At the second position, Covello defeated Furtmayr, 6-1, 6-3. Karaskova fell to Potapova at the No. 3 position by a score of 6-3, 6-2.
Baylor clinched the victory at the No. 5 position when Poskitt could not overcome Mihaylova, falling 6-4, 6-1. Masnic was defeated by Zrustova at the No. 4 position soon after, 6-3, 6-2.
At the No. 1 position, Kolodynska was close against the nation's No. 41 individual, Walter, but could not overcome the early deficit. She fell 7-5, 1-6, 6-2.
Baylor completed the shutout when Zuzana Krchnakova defeated Simmons in day's closest match, 7-5, 7-6 (1).
Oklahoma State will be looking to pick up a victory in their last road match when they travel to Norman to face Bedlam opponent, No. 18 Oklahoma (16-3, 5-2) at the Headington Tennis Center on April 22.
OSU holds a 26-11 all-time series lead against their in-conference rivals, including winning both meetings between the schools last year.
