Cowboy Track Runs at McDonnell Invitational

Redshirt freshman Ryan Ripley was the only Cowboy to claim a victory, winning the 3,000m in 8:30.20. Freshman David Jankowski also ran in the event, finishing five seconds behind Ripley in sixth. Fellow freshman David Pomies ran in the unseeded 3,000m, taking sixth in 8:40.50.
Chris Stoves grabbed seventh in the 1,500m in 3:52.81. In the unseeded version of the event, Tyler Campbell finished fifth in 3:54.46, junior Scott Rantall took sixth, and Sean McCabe crossed the finish line in eighth with a time of 3:55.49.
Senior Cassidy Smith also claimed a top 10 finish, taking ninth in the 800m in 1:54.35.
The Pokes are scheduled to compete in a pair of events this weekend, with some of the squad heading to Lawrence, Kan., for the Kansas Relays, while others make the trip west for the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif.
