Cowgirl Softball Splits At Border War

The Cowgirls kept their cool and rallied for the win, led by Shanel Scott who scored both of OSU's runs against the Lady'Backs.
Scott crossed home for the equalizing run in the third after a textbook set of plays. The speedy freshman reached first on a base hit, moved to second on a sacrifice and scored on a single up the middle from Megan Carey.
The winning run came in the fifth when the Cowgirls connected for two hits and benefited from a timely wild pitch from
Jessica Hoppock improved to 16-12 on the year with the win. The freshman gave up one unearned run off four hits, two walks and eight strikeouts.

The Cowgirls did not help themselves against the Hurricane, committing two errors in the sixth that allowed three unearned runs to score.
