Cowgirl Netters Host Ranked Conference Opponents
March 26, 2004 | Cowgirl Tennis
The Cowgirls will start the weekend with a 10 a.m. bout against the No. 16 Aggies (11-6, 3-0) on Saturday and will follow with a noon match against the No. 11 Longhorns (11-2, 4-0).
“We know that this weekend we face two of the top Big 12 programs,” said head coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski. “We are ready to them and we are going to play our hardest to steal a victory.”
OSU (5-6, 1-2) is coming off of a 4-0 loss at the hands of No. 27 TCU. The Cowgirls won their last conference match, dropping Kansas State in Manhattan on March 13.
Senior Katya Kolodynska will battle two top-25 opponents at the No. 1 position when she faces A&M's No. 16 Jessica Roland and No. 11 Petra Dizdor of Texas.
“We hope that Katya will be able to stay free of injuries,” Lubicz-Majewski said. “She is going to come out and work hard for us and will give the matches her all. She realizes how important her play is to the success of our team.”
In case of inclement weather, the match against the Aggies will be moved to the Oak Tree Tennis Facility in Edmond at 11:30 a.m.
