Cowboy Track Opens Outdoor Season

Oklahoma State's men's track team opened its outdoor season over the weekend at the Hurricane Invitational hosted by the University of Tulsa.
Sophomore Kent Mennem ran a pair of sprints, taking seventh in the 100m and sixth in the 200m, finishing that race in 22.72 seconds.
Freshman David Foster took sixth in the 400m in 53.16.
The Cowboys excelled in the 800m and 1,500m races. In the 800m, Ryan Ripley won in a time of 1:56.80 and was trailed closely by James Wanjiku in second. Tyler Campbell finished fourth, followed by Nicholas Chumo in seventh and Sean McCabe in eighth.
Junior Scott Rantall also opened his season with a victory, winning the 1,500m in 3:53.76. Steve Greenwell grabbed second in the event in 3:54.20, while Sean McCabe took fifth. Brian Ehlis, David Jankowski, and Cassidy Smith also finished seventh, eighth, and ninth, respectively.
Senior Greg Rouault saw his first action in nearly a year, coming back from injury to finish second in the 3,000m.
Oklahoma State will be in action again next weekend at the Stanford Invitational.
