Oklahoma State came out ready to play, scoring the lone run of the game in the first inning. Crystal Lee knocked Courtney Totte home for the game-winning run after Totte reached on a walk and moved into scoring position on a ground out from Megan Carey.
The Cowgirls had a chance to extend their lead in the fifth frame. OSU loaded the bases with no outs but the Shockers emerged from the inning untouched after two force outs at home and a fly ball.
Oklahoma State hung on for the win behind solid pitching from freshman Jessica Hoppock. Hoppock tossed the complete game shutout, scattering four hits, walking four and striking out eight Shockers.
Oklahoma State (14-12) returns to action on Friday, facing Kent State and Florida Atlantic on day one at the Florida Atlantic Tournament.
