OSU Equestrian Places Third at FSU Invitational

The Western team rode its way to a top finish to capture the Western title with 35 points. Texas A&M and Georgia rounded out the top three with 29 and 28 points, respectively.
OSU had a trio of rides take home top finishes in the Western discipline. Kristin Dickerson finished first in Horsemanship and third in Reining. The Las Cruces, N.M., native also won her championship ride-off.
Kayla Elmenhorst and Katie Bohr won their Reining sections, with Bohr winning her championships ride-off, too. Elmenhorst also chipped in a second-place finish in her Horsemanship section.
Allison Pickett finished third in her Reining section, while Crissy Meeks recorded the team's third top two finish in Horsemanship with her second-place showing.
In the Hunter Seat, Lindsay Parker and Lindsay Pounds were the lone Cowgirls to finish in the top three in their class. The two finished third in their section of Equitation on the Flat.
The team placed third overall with 55 points, behind Texas A&M (62) and Georgia (58). OSU returns to action at the Zone 7 Region 2 Championships March 28 at Texas A&M. The regional championships is all individual with no team scoring.
