Cowgirl Softball Outlasts Portland State, 4-3

Oklahoma State's softball team closed out the weekend with a 4-3 extra-inning win against Portland State at the Cal State Fullerton Worth Inviational.
Leadoff batter Shanel Scott started the Cowgirls off with a base hit and scored on a sacrifice fly by Megan Carey in the bottom of the first.
OSU's offense came alive in the fifth after Alliya Anderson led off with a double. Erika Ennis entered as a pinch runner and Calli Behmer moved Ennis to third with a textbook bunt. The throw home was late and Ennis scored the equalizing run. The Cowgirls proceeded to load the bases but Michelle Hext struck out the next to Cowgirls to keep the score tied at 2-2.
Both teams scored one run in the eighth after the international tie-breaker rule was enforced and the Cowgirls held the Vikings in the ninth after they loaded the bases with one out.
