Lady Netters Snap Losing Skid

The No. 38 Cowgirls (3-2, 0-0) dropped their first two matches of the tournament, but rebounded with a convincing win over their Big Sky Conference opponents.
OSU started fast, picking up the doubles point with victories at the second and third positions.
At the No. 2 slot, junior Ines Furtmayr and sophomore Zana Masnic defeated Cristina Klokinis and Ashley Dille, 8-6. The freshman tandem of Jennifer Poskitt and Lauren Simmons followed suit at the No. 3 position, dispatching Karen Kmiec and Julie Schmandt, 8-6.
Northern Arizona was able to avoid the doubles sweep, picking up a victory at the No. 1 position. Seniors Katya Kolodynska and Jana Karaskova dropped the 8-5 decision to Jean Willman and Susan McClelland.
The Cowgirls clinched the match by registering a victory at the bottom three singles positions.
At No. 4 singles, Masnic dominated NAU's Dille, picking up the 6-2, 6-0 straight set victory. Simmons extended the Cowgirl lead at the No. 5 position, dropping Kmiec 7-5, 6-2.
Northern Arizona avoided the shutout by posting a singles victory at the No. 1 position. Kolodynska dropped her first match of the season, falling to Willman, 7-6, 6-0.
OSU ended the match at the No. 6 position when Poskitt defeated McClelland 6-2, 6-3. The No. 2 and No. 3 contests were not completed because the outcome of the match had been decided.
The Cowgirls return to action on March 5 when they take on Missouri at the Green Tennis Center in Columbia, Mo. The Cowgirls hold a 20-2 all-time series lead against the Tigers.
