March 01, 2004 | Cowgirl Softball
Shanel Scott walked to lead off the first for Oklahoma State and later scored on a Megan Carey single to give the Cowgirls a 1-0 lead.
Boston came back in the top of the second, DeKenya Williams walked, moved to third on a double by Erin McDonald, and scored on a wild pitch by Kristen Neil. After a second wild pitch, Jessica Hoppock entered for the Cowgirls.
Hoppock walked Heather Cassidy and struck out Jamie Haas, but gave up a two-run single to Abby Pauley and the Terriers led, 3-1.
Oklahoma State cut it to 3-2 in the second. Alliya Anderson doubled and Courtney Totte drove her in with a single to center field.
The Cowgirls loaded the bases in the third with no outs but Boston's defense came up with a stop to keep the Cowgirls at bay.
OSU's offense continued to challenge Boston in the fourth. Carey hit her second home run of the season, a three-run shot to left to put OSU on top 5-3.
Scott added an RBI single in the fifth for the final 6-3 score.
Neil earned the start for Oklahoma State, giving up three runs off two hits in one inning. Hoppock picked up her third win of the weekend, scattering three hits and shutting out the Terriers in six innings of work. The freshman also had 10 strikeouts.
Oklahoma State (12-6) returns to action on Tuesday, hosting North Texas for a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
