Cowgirl Softball Hosts North Texas
March 01, 2004 | Cowgirl Softball
Oklahoma State takes a short break from tournament play to host North Texas for a 4 p.m. tilt at Cowgirl Stadium on Tuesday. The Cowgirls came away with an 8-2 win in the last meeting with the Mean Green. The two squads met in mid-February at the North Texas Betlin Round-Up.
The Cowgirls are coming off a third-place finish at the Worth Wildcat Invitational last weekend. Oklahoma State went 3-2 at the event. Both losses came at the hands of a pair of Top 10 opponents, Stanford and Arizona. The Cowgirls defeated No. 22 South Florida and dropped Boston twice.
HEAD COACH MARGARET REBENAR
Margaret Rebenar is in her 25th season season as a softball coach at Oklahoma State and third as a head coach. She brings a 80-44 record as a head coach into Tuesday's contest. Rebenar led the 2003 Cowgirls to a second place finish in the Big 12 regular season race and their first NCAA Regional appearance in five years. Under her guidance, 23 players have earned All-American status 29 times, including Olympians Michele Smith, Melanie Roche and Lauren Bay.
