February 15, 2004 | Cowgirl Softball
In the opening game Mississippi State struck first, plating one run in the bottom of the first. The Bulldogs advantage would be short-lived as the Cowgirls took the lead for good in the second with a pair of runs.
With two outs Ashleigh Tweed tripled to center field and crossed home plate on a single from Shanel Scott. Courtney Totte followed with a double through the left side to score Scott.
Crystal Lee provided what would be the game-winning run in the third frame, a solo home run to left field.
The Bulldogs managed to score one final run in the bottom of the fourth but the Cowgirls hung on for the 3-2 win.
