Cowgirl Baskettball Resumes Home Slate Against Texas Southern

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (3-4) will host Texas Southern (0-7) at 7 p.m. on Monday in its first contest since taking a week off for final exams. The Cowgirls will be looking to rebound from its 68-59 loss at Memphis on Dec. 11, while the Tigers are searching for their first victory of the season.
ABOUT TEXAS SOUTHERN
Texas Southern will make its first-ever trek to Stillwater to take on the Cowgirls this Monday and will be in search of its first win of the season. Through seven games, the Tigers have yet to play a home contest. TSU is 0-4 in true road games and 0-3 in neutral court outings. Thus far, the Tigers have road losses at Wichita State, Southeast Missouri, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and most recently Texas-San Antonio. Arkansas-Little Rock, Kent State and Monmouth also own victories over TSU. The Tigers have a pair of players scoring in double figures with forward Monica Okolo leading the way at 11.9 points per game, while guard Jennifer Hickmon is chipping in with 11.4 points per outing. Forward Victoria Jones is grabbing a team-high 8.4 rebounds per game, while guard Catrina Malveaux leads the squad with 21 assists on the year.
OSU AND TEXAS SOUTHERN—THE SERIES
Monday's meeting will be the first-ever contest between the Cowgirls and Tigers. The Cowgirls have crossed paths with teams from the Southwestern Athletic Conference on eight occasions and hold a 5-3 record all-time against its member schools. OSU last competed against a member of the SWAC on Jan. 2, 2002 when it defeated Prairie View A&M, 77-42, in Stillwater.

A Cowgirl win would get them back to the .500 mark or better for the fourth time this season ... an OSU win would be its first over a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference in nearly three years and its first ever against Texas Southern.
