Softball Earns NFCA Academic Honors

Seven Oklahoma State softball players have been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Scholar Athlete list for the 2003-04 academic year.
Players receiving the honor are required to have a 3.5 grade point average for the fall and spring semesters.
Two Cowgirls, Megan Carey and Erika Ennis, earned the honor for the third straight year. Stephanie Nicholson was recognized for the second time and Shianne Cruce, Jessica Hoppock, Lauren Kitchens and Courtney Totte were first-time honorees.
Oklahoma State led all Big 12 schools with seven selections, followed by Baylor (5), Iowa State, Missouri and Oklahoma (4), Nebraska (3) and Texas (2).
The team was also recognized with an overall GPA of 3.178, 38th nationally and third in the Big 12 behind Baylor and Iowa State.
