Cowgirl Softball Celebrates Alumni Weekend

Over 50 former Oklahoma State softball players were in town last weekend to participate in alumni activities. OSU alums came to Stillwater from eight states, Canada and Australia for the first reunion since 1995.

A banquet was held at Meditations on Friday evening to celebrate the tradition-rich history of Cowgirl Softball and the 30th anniversary of the program. OSU has made 14 NCAA Tournament and six Women's College World Series appearances.

A five-inning game featuring players from the 1970s and 1980s versus the 1990s and 2000s was played at Cowgirl Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The game ended in a 4-4 tie.

“We had a great time during the weekend festivities,” commented head coach Margaret Rebenar. “It was great to see everyone again, some for the first time in 20 years. We are excited to have former players return, enjoy camaraderie and reestablish themselves with our program.”
