Cowboys Confident Going Into Big 12 Meet
October 27, 2004 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
The Cowboys finished in the top-10 in every meet they competed in. Although Colorado, the team that has finished first in every Big 12 Championship since the inception of the Big 12 conference in 1996, is a definite pick to take the top spot this weekend, the Cowboys are confident that they have the talent to give the Buffs a run for the title.
“We know that Colorado is supposed to win, but we also know that if we run well and things go our way, we have a shot to win, “ said Cowboys assistant coach Dave Smith.
Seniors Gregory Rouault and Scott Rantall, along with junior Sean McCabe will lead a very talented group of runners. Sophomores Joseph Gray, Brian Ehlis, Ryan Ripley, and Tyler Campbell as well as freshman Chris Stoves and redshirt freshman David Jankowski represent the present as well as the future for OSU cross country.
The event is being hosted ny Kansas State at Stateland Cross Country Course in Topeka, Kan. The men's 8k race will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday.
