Oklahoma State's softball team won its first contest at the Oklahoma Shootout at Hall of Fame Stadium Friday night, defeating Oklahoma Christian, 5-2.
Randi Cook picked up her first decision of the fall season against the Eagles. Cook gave up three hits in the first inning before shutting down OCC until the sixth inning when it managed one hit.
OCC took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first but the Cowgirls bounced back to even the score after two innings.
Shanel Scott led off with a single to start the contest and came home on two out single from Megan Carey.
The Cowgirls put another run on the board in the second when Jade Lindly scored on an error by the Eagles' shortstop.
Things slowed down for two innings, before the Cowgirls scored three in the bottom of the fifth.
Scott got the rally started with a double and scored on a triple from Courtney Totte. Totte then crossed home plate on a base hit from Nicholson. Megan Carey had the second triple of the frame, scoring Nicholson for the final margin.
Scott and Carey led the Cowgirls offensively, both going 2-for-3. Scott had one RBI and Carey had two.
