Softball Defeats Butler Community College, 14-2

The Cowgirls used an explosive six-run second inning to take a lead they would never relinquish. OSU connected for four hits in the frame, including a three-run triple from Megan Carey.
Courtney Totte led off the sixth with a solo homer to right center. The Cowgirls scored two more runs in the frame, both unearned.
Oklahoma State also added one run in the fifth, seventh and ninth innings. Two runs crossed home plate in the 10th to round out the scoring.
Jade Lindly and Lacy Darity each had a double in the contest, the only other hits to go for extra bases for the Cowgirls.
Butler had 12 hits in the contest but managed just two runs, one in the third and 10th innings.
A trio of Cowgirl pitchers saw action in the 12 inning contest, Kristen Neil, Jessica Hoppock and Randi Cook. Neil started the game and picked up the win, giving up one run, walking two and striking out four. Hoppock pitched the next four innings, striking out five and scattering four hits. Cook closed out the contest, giving up one run, striking out four and walking one.
The Cowgirls close out the home portion of their fall schedule Wednesday at 3 p.m. against Northern Oklahoma College.
