Terry joined the academic staff in July of 2001 and currently serves as the primary counselor for the football team. Prior to arriving at Oklahoma State, he spent six-years as a mental health counselor in Oklahoma City specializing in gang at risk youth as well as emotionally disturbed children and families. Terry received his B.A. in Sociology from Oklahoma State University in 1993 and completed a Masters of Human Relations degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2001. In addition, Terry is a former student athlete who played five seasons for Oklahoma State University as a defensive back (1988-1993) and has one daughter aged 10 named Kortnee Nycole. Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and manage academic support programs for at risk student-athletes and working to ensure that satisfactory progress has been made toward eligibility as well as percentage of degree.
- Advise at-risk student athletes regarding life skills and personal issues.
- Provide direction for at-risk student athletes regarding major selection, eligibility status, and coordinate enrollment procedures.
- Compile academic data and/or information regarding student athlete performance and forward this information to coaches, on campus advisors, and the Assistant Athletic Director.
- Participate in the recruitment of prospective student athletes during official visits.
