Crow was perfect on her first 11 free throws, a school record, but missed her last one to go 11-of-12 and fall short of the record. Five OSU players have gone 10-of-10 in a game prior to Monday night.
"It makes a world of difference when you shoot 58 percent and score 88 points and when you shoot 38 percent and score 44 points," said OSU Coach Dick Halterman. "I think we are capable of shooting the ball this well all the time."
As a team, Oklahoma State did shoot very well, connecting on 32-of-56 (.571) shots from the field. Three other Cowgirls scored in double figures, including Renee Roberts, who had 16 and moved into 11th place on the all-time school scoring list. She now has 1,017.
"The kids came out and played as hard as they have all year," said Halterman. "I think our full-court pressure got to them early in the second half and we forced some turnovers and basically put the game away."
Western Illinois committed 22 turnovers in the game, and shot just 27.9 percent from the field. Freshman Kinesha Davis, who was averaging 19.8 points per game prior to the contest, scored just six on 3-of-18 shooting while being guarded by Roberts.
Oklahoma State will take a week off for the holidays before hosting the annual Bertha Teague Memorial Classic on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 29-30, in Stillwater. North Texas will play Sam Houston State at 6 p.m. on Monday while OSU will entertain ORU at 8 p.m.
