Three members of Oklahoma States softball team were named to the Big 12 All-Tournament Team Sunday at Don Porter ASA Hall of Fame Stadium. Senior Ryan Realmuto and sophomores Stephanie Nicholson and Megan Carey became the first Cowgirls to snag the honor since Jade Lindly and Amanda Hayes in 2001.
After earning All-Big 12 honors prior to the tournament Realmuto continued her solid league play last week, finishing with a .400 batting average in four games.
A native of Del City, Okla., Realmuto had a two-run home run in Saturdays contest with Oklahoma that pushed OSUs season total to 45 and set a new school record.
Nicholson led the Cowgirls offensively in the tournament, batting .462. The Flowing Wells, Ariz., native connected for two doubles, including the game-winning two-out shot in the ninth inning against Nebraska.
A native of San Diego, Calif., Carey became the first Cowgirl to hit more than one long ball in a game in 2003, sending two yard in the opening contest against Baylor.
Oklahoma State (37-13) finished the tournament 2-2, just one win short of making the championship contest. The Cowgirls defeated Baylor and Nebraska then dropped a pair to Oklahoma.
