Cowgirls Face Harvard in NCAA Tennis
May 01, 2003 | Cowgirl Tennis
The Cowgirls will face host Harvard in a first round match on Friday, May 9 at a time to be announced.
Head Coach Julius Lubicz-Majewski and the Cowgirls will be riding substantial momentum after sailing through the Big 12 Championships last weekend but will face a tough first round opponent on its home court.
I think it is a tough draw and a tough place to play, Lubicz-Majewski said. We lost to them indoors earlier this season but did not play very well.
The Cowgirls will ride into the NCAA Championships on a nine-match winning streak, including three straight last weekend in Kansas City en-route to the Big 12 championship. OSU enters the tournament ranked 23rd in the country.
Were certainly hoping for good weather and the chance to play outdoors, Majewski said. Were healthy and looking forward to playing.
Arizona is the top seed in Boston and will face Niagra in the other first round match. The OSU-Harvard winner will face either Arizona or Niagra for the opportunity to advance to the round of 16 which begins May 15.
