Cowgirls Complete Play at Las Vegas Invitational

Cowgirl Senior Kate Vasylyeva was able to advance to the semi-finals of the consolation bracket for flight-one singles where she came from behind to defeat Gyorgyi Zsiros of UNLV, 1-6, 7-6, 10-4.
Vasylyeva was scheduled to face the victor of the match between Cowgirl teammates Linda Faltynkova and Ines Furtmayr for the top individual in the flight-one singles consolation bracket. Faltynkova and Furtmayr did not play, leaving Vasylyeva as the champion in the flight-one consolation bracket.
Cowgirl junior Katia Kolodynska defeated Katie Schurr in her only match of the consolation bracket, 6-1,7-6.
The final day of the Las Vegas Invitational saw no doubles action for the Cowgirls. All three Oklahoma State duos were defeated in Friday's action, only to advance to a sweep of the top-three positions in the doubles consolation bracket.
The Cowgirls will return to tournament action when they travel to Los Angeles, Oct. 10-13, to compete in the Riviera All-American Tournament.
