Cowgirl Netters Advance to Final Day at Hurricane Invitational

Oklahoma State's women's tennis team advanced four players to the finale day of competition in the singles bracket at the Hurricane Invitational on Saturday in Tulsa.

Seniors Linda Faltynkova and Kate Vasylyeva led the way for the Cowgirls. Faltynkova defeated Marketa Cizova of Texas-Arlington in straight sets 6-3, 7-6. Vasylyeva outlasted Annemarie Lenze of Texas-Arlington in three sets 7-5, 6-7, 7-6.

Sophomore Ines Furtmayr battled back to defeat Jitka Vetrovcova of Texas-Arlington in three sets 4-6, 6-4, 7-6.

Freshman Zana Masnic defeated Katherine Warren of Texas-Arlington by default to advance.

Faltynkova teamed with senior Gorana Marsic to advance to the next round of the doubles bracket. The duo defeated Cizova and Lenze 8-5. The duo of Masnic and Vasylyeva also advanced by defeating Vetrovcova and Warren 8-3.

The final rounds of the singles and doubles brackets will take place on Sunday.
