Men's Cross Country Takes Third at Arkansas Chile Pepper

David "Junior" Vasquez, a senior and two-time Big 12 runner of the week, led the Cowboys with a time of 30:01 and a fifth-place finish. Jerry Rainey came in 13th with a time of 30:41. Matt Hart and Ben Lake placed 15th and 16th with times of 30:46. A time of 30:58 helped Johan Bergstrom to a 19th-place finish.
OSU tied with Iona College with a total team score of 68. Abilene Christian won the meet with a team score of 43, while Arkansas placed second with a score of 46.
OSU's next appearance will be Oct. 28 at the Big 12 Championships in Boulder, Colo.
