Cross Country Teams Finish Strong at NCAA Championships

Junior standout Hanna Smedstad was the top performer for the Cowgirls by placing 28th overall. With the finish, she qualifies for All-American honors. She ran a 17:31.63, 5000m.
"I am very happy with it. Coming in as a team, we were ranked 30th. Anything better than that would would be great, and 20th is really good." Said Smedstad.
The Cowgirls placed 20th in the meet with an overall score of 462.
"I am very excited. We were ranked 30th coming, and to finish 20th is a great surprise. I am very happy with my kids." Said Head Coach Catrina Acosta. "We are a player now. Now that we know what we are capable of, we can say that 'we can do this' and get after it next year."
The Cowboys scored 387, which placed them 14th in the meet. Gitogo Churu led OSU with a 52nd-place finish by running a 31:27.30.
