Cross Country Ready To Host The 60th Jamboree

The 60th Annual Cowboy Jamboree will be run on the Oklahoma State cross country course this weekend and a number of talented cross country squads such as second-ranked Arkansas, third-ranked Colorado and 14th-ranked Iowa State for the men and fifth-ranked Colorado, 11th-ranked Arkansas and 25th-ranked Iowa State for the women will make their way to Stillwater to be a part of it. The Jamboree is the oldest consecutive cross country race in the United States.
The junior college men will cover an 8k course starting at 8:30 a.m. The university women will run a 5k at 9:10 a.m with the university men running an 8k at 9:40 a.m.
Rene Carlsen will lead the Cowboys into the Jamboree following a ninth-place finish in Seattle over the weekend covering the 8k course in a time of 25:12.84
The Cowboys finished second to fourth-ranked Oregon but were victorious over 20th-ranked Washington over the weekend.
Chuck Sloan placed 14th (25:32.78) with Brian Young a step off at 15th place (25:33.88).
The rest of the Cowboy scoring came from Nathaniel Lane 18th place (25:44.20) and Habel Churu 21st place (25:52).
Rounding out the Cowboy finishers were Eric Framme, 22nd place (25:55.65) and Scott Gray, 35th place (26:25.22).
The Cowgirls were without the assistance of Hanna Smedstad over the weekend but Andrene Thompson stepped up along with teammate Tamara Dingley to lead the Cowgirls in Seattle. Thompson covered the 5k course in a time of 18:34.76 finishing in 26th place while Dingley finished the race in 30th place covering the course in a time of 18:37.96.
The rest of the Cowgirl scoring came from Jenny Koch, 33rd place (18:46.69), Brandi Woodward, 54th place (19:32.37) and Karla Dennis, 70th place (21:48.92).
Rounding out the Cowgirl finishers were Ashley Barby (22:06.37), Heather Webb (23:04.60) and Nikki Roady (25:17.09).
