The Oklahoma State student-athletes hosted a Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF fundraiser on Thursday, October 31st in the north parking lot of the Athletics Center. Candy was distributed to all trick-or-treaters from 7:00 pm 8:30 pm.
UNICEF, the United Nations Childrens Fund was founded in 1946 to help children after World War II. UNICEF helps children living in poverty by promoting childrens rights and providing food, health care and an education to the worlds disadvantage children.
Some student-athletes went out into the Stillwater community and trick-or-treated door to door in hopes to raise money for UNICEF. Overall, the student-athletes raised $156.13. This will allow 156 poverty stricken children the opportunity to get an immunization shot. About 45 student-athletes were in attendance from seven sports. Although it was very cold, the student-athletes dressed up in costumes and enjoyed the night doing something for a great cause.
