Cowgirl Equestrian Atop Team Standings After Three Shows
April 03, 2003 | Cowgirl Equestrian
The Cowgirls had four members take home victories en route to a third place finish on Sunday.
"The overall weekend was great," assistant coach Suzanne Flaig said. "We lost a little intensity after Saturday, but with three shows into the season we are happy to be ahead of Texas A&M."
Senior Kelly Combs recorded a first place finish in Intermediate Flat, while sophomore Chandy Hale finished first in Advanced Walk-Trot-Canter.
"This will give us confidence heading into our home schedule before the break," Flaig said. "Hopefully we can take a bigger lead after the break."
Senior Kate Hays captured a first place finish in Novice Fences, while junior Sarah McVay finished first in Novice Flat.
Sophomore Corrie Janssen finished second in Open Fences, while McVay recorded a second place finish in Novice Fences.
The Cowgirls will open the home portion of the season with a pair of hunt seat shows on Dec. 1-2.
