Cowgirl Softball Announces Spring Recruiting Class

Cook is a highly touted pitcher from Eagle, Idaho. She is a three-time All-State selection under head coach Judy Crandall and was named the 2002 Gatorade Player of the Year.
During her senior campaign, Cook posted a 50-8 record and a 0.53 ERA. She also recorded 247 strikeouts and issued just six walks. Cook chose Oklahoma State over Texas, Arizona State and Washington.
“Randi will make an immediate impact on the pitching staff,” said head coach Margaret Rebenar. “She is an outstanding player and will greatly enhance our depth on the mound next year.”
Lauren Kitchens is the fifth Oklahoma prep standout to sign with the Cowgirls this year and brings the recruiting class total to seven. A native of Mustang, Okla., Kitchens lettered four years at Mustang High School.
She played second base, third base and shortstop under head coach Boyer Wilson. Kitchens was named the Newcomer of the Year as a freshman and later earned the Lady Bronco Award.
“Lauren will be used as a utility player,” said Rebenar. “She will add to the speed phase of our offense and boost a team that is losing six seniors.”
