Cowboys Have Successful Weekend Across Nation
April 21, 2003 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
Oklahoma State's men's track team brought home no worse than a fourth-place finish in any event in which it competed this weekend at the Kansas Relays in Lawrence, Kan.
The Pokes were led by Ben Sigle, who won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 9:26.87, and the sprint medley relay team of Vernon Grant, Kinneth Jones, Justin Nobles, and Daniel McLemore, who won that event in 3:25.68. The 4x1 mile relay team captured a second-place finish, crossing the line with a time of 17:06.62. Rounding out the day in Lawrence for the Cowboys was the 4x200-meter relay team of Justin Nobles, Andy Rihn, Cassidy Smith, and Matt Thomson, who finished fourth with a time of 7:44.01.
While most of the Cowboys were in Kansas, Jason Woolhouse was representing the team at the Mt. Sac Relays in the Los Angeles suburb of Walnut, Calif. Competing in the 10,000-meter run only, Woolhouse ran a time of 29:14 and qualified for the NCAA Regional meet.
The Cowboys will travel east this weekend to compete in the Penn Relays in Philadelphia from April 24 to 26.
