Cowgirl Softball Hosts Missouri

The Cowgirls have been idle since last weekend as their midweek games in Tulsa were cancelled due to weather. Oklahoma State dropped two to Texas A&M last weekend. The Aggies handed the Cowgirls a 3-0 loss on Sunday, becoming the first team to shut out the Cowgirls this year.
Missouri picked up a pair of conference wins over Iowa State on Thursday, sweeping the Cyclones 1-0 and 4-0 in a doubleheader. The Tigers are road tested after picking up a critical win against Oklahoma in Norman earlier in the season.
HEAD COACH MARGARET REBENAR
Margaret Rebenar is in her 24th season season as a softball coach at Oklahoma State and second as a head coach. She brings a 56-32 record as a head coach into Tuesday's game. She was inducted into the NFCA/Easton "300 win" club in 2000 and guided the Cowgirls to a regional championship and a College World Series appearance in 1998. Under her guidance, 22 players have earned All-American status 28 times, including Olympians Michele Smith and Melanie Roche.
ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH KIM WARD
In her second year as the top assistant coach for Oklahoma State is Kim Ward. Prior to her appointment, she served as assistant coach for six years. Ward also played at OSU and is a two-time All-American pitcher.
SERIES WITH MISSOURI
Oklahoma State leads the all-time series with Missouri 51-22. The Cowgirls swept both meetings in Columbia last year but the Tigers have won four of the last six in Stillwater. Overall, OSU is 13-10 against MU at home. The teams are an even at 9-9 since the Big 12 began in 1996.
SCOUTING MISSOURI
Missouri enters the series at 24-14 overall and 7-2 in Big 12 games. The Tigers are riding a six-game winning streak, the longest in the conference and are 3-1 on the road. Things seem to be clicking at the right time as MU has won 10 of its last 12 contests. Rachael McGinnis leads the Tigers at the plate with a .366 batting average and nine home runs. The junior also as five doubles, three triples and a .705 slugging percentage. Morgan LaCluyss is next, batting .337 with five doubles, three triples and four home runs. Missouri has been successful on 51-of-75 stolen base attempts and is led by Daisy Mettlach with 12. In the circle the Tigers are paced by the reigning Big 12 Pitcher of the Week, Erin Kalka. Kalka is 14-7 on the year with a 1.89 ERA. The sophomore has posted nine of Missouri's 14 shutouts and is averaging 7.5 Ks per game. Filling the backup roles are Ingrid Werner and Samantha Fleeman. Werner is 5-1 with a 1.50 earned run average and Fleeman sits at 5-5 with a 1.86 ERA.
