Nicholson, a native of Flowing Wells, Ariz., comes to Oklahoma State after spending one year at the University of Washington where she was the starting second baseman. In high school, Nicholson served as team captain and led her team to back-to-back state titles in 1998 and 1999.
"Stephanie is young, but gained a lot of experience in the Pac-10 last year," said assistant coach Eric Whitley. "We expect her to play shortstop this year and help fill the hole on the left side of the infield that we have due to graduation."
Garcia transfers to OSU from Seminole State with two years of eligibility remaining. The Tulsa, Okla., native also played one year at Garden City Community College. Garcia lettered four years at Union High School and earned all-conference, all-region and all-state honors for her play in center field.
"Rainey is very strong at the plate and will bring great speed to the base paths. She also comes in with college playing experience and will be a integral part of the outfield," commented Whitley.
Anderson also transfers to Oklahoma State with two years of eligibility remaining. A native of Sonora, Calif., she earned two letters at Palomar College. In high school, Anderson played first base and was tabbed all-league twice.
"Alliya will platoon with Stephanie Hodges at first base this year and is a solid player with a great arm," said Whitley. "She is an all around offensive threat and can do everything at the plate."
Oklahoma State has 13 letterwinners returning from last year's 29-23 squad and has now added seven newcomers to the mix. The Cowgirls will face their first test when they kick off the fall portion of their schedule on September 10 against Carl Albert State College.
