Spring 2002: Afton saw action in 13 games and started two contests last year in the infield. She had one error in nine chances, a .889 fielding percentage.
Fall 2001: Afton played in five games and started three for the Cowgirls. She had one hit in nine at-bats. Afton was perfect in the field in 12 chances and was successful in her lone stolen-base attempt.
at Conners State: Afton spent two years at Connors State College playing for coaches Rick Carbone and Renne Springer. She lettered both years and was named All-Region. Afton led Connors State to a third- place finish in regionals.
Prep: Afton lettered four years for coaches Gerald Osborne and Wesley Cloud at Stigler High School. She also played basketball for four years and ran track for two years. She was named All-District four years in basketball and All-Region three years.
Personally: Born July 31, 1981, Afton is the daughter of Lawrence and Ann Burris. She has one sister, Misti. Afton is majoring in biology with an option in medicine at Oklahoma State.
