1999-2000 (Freshman): Had an adventurous year to say the least: His debut campaign ran the gamut from a five-game suspension dealing with his enrollment at MCI to his single-handedly putting out a fire at his dorm building ... the Big 12's leading freshman shot blocker (1.25 per game) and among the top 10 in the league overall ... career-high 14 points, eight free throws against Colorado ... 11 points, 12 rebounds, four blocks, three dunks and 20 minutes against Alcorn State ... 11 points against Baylor ... 10 rebounds against Appalachian State, becoming the first freshman ever to record double-digit rebounds in an OSU season opener ... seven points, eight rebounds at UALR ... blocked three shots in five minutes of playing time against Global Sports ... four blocks against Texas A&M ... spent much of August in Austria with the Big 12 All-Star Team ... the All-Stars' leading rebounder (5.7 per game) ... produced the tour's only double-double with a 12-point, 14-rebound effort in the team's finale.
High School and Prep School: Earned team MVP honors at Schlagle High School in Kansas City in 1997-98, averaging 13 points, 14 rebounds and 13 blocked shots ... was ranked as the nation's No. 21 power forward by Future Stars ... spent 1998-99 at Maine Central Institute ... helped lead MCI to a 34-4 record and the New England Prep School Athletic Conference championship ... won all-tournament honors three times during the season ... averaged 15.1 points, a team-high 12.7 rebounds and a team-high 3.4 blocks while shooting 52.8 percent from the field.
