Cowboy Track Runs at Jayhawk Invitational

Woolhouse's victory was one of three event wins for the Pokes. Senior posted the victory in the 5,000-meter run, and the distance medley relay team crossed the line an impressive 21 seconds before their nearest competition.
The Cowboys added two members of the football squad's defensive backfield to their sprinting lineup, freshmen Daniel McLemore and Vernon Grant. Each competed on the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes, with McLemore posting a fifth-place finish in a very competitive 60-meter race.
Other notable individual efforts included top-10 finishes for and Scott Rantall in the mile run, a third-place finish for school record holder Matt Thomson in the 800-meter run, and a fifth-place finish by Cassidy Smith in the 1,000-meter run.
The Cowboys are next scheduled to compete in the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. on Feb. 14 and 15.
