Cowgirl Softball Shuts Out Seminole State, 5-0

Sarah Seagraves started the game for OSU and, despite surrendering two hits in the first inning, threw three shutout innings, striking out four. Brooke Siebel threw the next three frames and gave up just one hit, walked one batter and struck out six.
Senior Cami Carter came onto the mound in the seventh, and gave up just one hit to lead off the eighth. Fellow senior Lauren Bay completed the game with three innings of work, and allowed just one walk while striking out four.
The Cowgirl offense was effective early. In the bottom of the second, Cowgirl second baseman Calli Behmer led off with a single, and scored on a triple by Washington-transfer Stephanie Nicholson. In the third, Stephanie Hodges walked with two outs, and scored on a double by Seagraves.
Oklahoma State scored three more in the fourth, highlighted by a two-run single by junior Jade Lindly. The Cowgirls had four hits and two stolen bases in the inning. The Lady Trojans shut OSU down after the three-run inning, allowing just four hits the final eight innings.
Oklahoma State will host the annual Cowgirl Mini-Classic I on Saturday, Sept. 14, beginning at 9 a.m.
