STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's softball team extended its winning streak to 15 on Sunday, outlasting Texas Tech 3-2 in nine innings before 380 fans at Cowgirl Stadium.
Tech took a quick lead in the top of the first, scoring one run without connecting for a single hit. The Red Raiders capitalized on two fielder's choice at-bats and a pair of walks when Kristi Robles scored on a sacrifice bunt.
The Cowgirls answered in the bottom of the frame on a RBI single from Alliya Anderson. Stephanie Nicholson drew the walk and Calli Behmer was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. Megan Carey then singled and Anderson followed with a bases loaded bunt to bring Behmer home.
Oklahoma State continued to roll, jumping out to a 2-1 lead in the second when Behmer doubled to left center to score Nicholson. But the Red Raiders had an answer in the following frame, coming in the form of a long ball from Robles.
After the home run both teams settled in for the long haul. The Cowgirls looked like they would win their second consecutive game in the bottom of the seventh but ended up leaving the bases loaded to send the contest into extra innings.
OSU broke the standstill in the bottom of the ninth when Anderson collected her second RBI of the day.
Ryan Realmuto started the charge, doubling to right center with two outs. Erika Ennis replaced Realmuto as a pinch-runner and Lauren Bay was intentionally walked for the second consecutive at-bat. Anderson then singled to right center to score Ennis and end the game.
Sarah Seagraves earned the start in the circle, striking out two batters and giving up two runs before being relieved by Bay. Bay improved to 16-3 overall, fanning seven batters and scattering two hits in the final five innings.
Oklahoma State (27-6, 6-0) travels to Norman on Wednesday to play OU in the first round of Bedlam at 7 p.m.
