STILLWATER, Okla. - Jade Lindly capped off a come-from-behind rally by Oklahoma State's softball team with a RBI single in the 11th inning that gave the Cowgirls a 6-5 win over Tulsa. After Wednesday's win, the Cowgirls improved to 9-0 at home and extended their winning streak to 13.
Tulsa jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the second on a pair of two-out RBI singles from Heather Hiar and Danielle Olsen.
The Cowgirls then cut the lead to one in the bottom of the fifth on a double from Stephanie Nicholson but the Golden Hurricane pushed two more runs home in the sixth to regain a 4-1 lead.
Oklahoma State continued to chip at the margin, posting one run in the bottom of the sixth when Stephanie Hodges knocked in pinch-runner Lacy Darity.
Trailing by two runs in the final inning of regulation the Cowgirls surged yet again, scoring two runs on a pair of hits to send the game into extra innings.
Afton Burris started the rally with a leadoff single and advanced to third on a single from Nicholson. A wild pitch from Ami Day sent Burris home and a sacrifice fly from Ryan Realmuto brought Nicholson in for the tying run.
After two scoreless innings, both Tulsa and Oklahoma State scored a run in the 10th when the international tie-breaker rule went into effect.
The 11th inning would be the difference maker and it got off to a great start as Lauren Bay sat down all three Golden Hurricane batters. Bay then started the bottom of the frame on second, advanced to third on a sacrifice from Stephanie Hodges and scored on Lindly's game-winning hit to left field.
Bay fanned 19 Golden Hurricane batters after coming on in relief in the second for Sarah Seagraves. Bay threw a one-hitter in the final 9.1 innings and gave up three runs, all unearned. Seagraves scattered five hits and surrendered two runs.
Oklahoma State (25-6) returns to action on Saturday, hosting Texas Tech for a 2 p.m. contest at Cowgirl Stadium
