Lauren Bay Named Big 12 Pitcher Of The Week

DALLAS, Texas - Lauren Bay, a senior on Oklahoma State's softball team was named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. It marks the second time this year that Bay has earned the honor.
Bay went 5-1 last week and earned MVP honors at the Speedline Invitational in Tampa, Fla. The Trail, B.C., Canada, native posted 92 strikeouts in 46.2 innings of work for an average of 13.94 K's per game. Bay also held her opponents to three hits or less in each appearance, including a two-hitter against No. 12 Stanford in the championship contest.
The lefty fanned at least 10 batters in all five of her complete games and sat down 15 or more in three outings. Included was a season-high 17 strikeouts against Maryland which tied the OSU single game record.
Oklahoma State (17-6) opens a five-game homestand on Wednesday, hosting Wichita State for a 6 p.m. contest.
