Cowgirl Basketball Drops Texas A&M, 68-48

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Oklahoma State's women's basketball team picked up its first road win of the season on Wednesday night, defeating Texas A&M, 68-48, at Reed Arena.
The Cowgirls (7-18 overall, 3-11 Big 12), who were 0-8 previously on the road, opened with a 15-4 run in the first half behind nine points from senior Thia Willis, who finished the contest with a season-high 21 points. The Aggies (10-15, 3-11) answered with 10 consecutive points of their own, including six straight from Natasha Summerville, to trim the lead to one.
OSU held a 28-23 lead at the intermission behind a 12-point, nine-rebound performance from junior Trisha Skibbe. The Oxford, Kan., native finished with 26 points and 14 boards to record her seventh double-double of the season.
Using a 12-3 run to open the second period, the Cowgirls pushed the lead back to double figures at 40-26. Freshman Meghan Craig extended the margin to 16 at 47-31 with her second three-pointer of the game at the 12:47 mark.
OSU will close out the home portion of its schedule on Saturday when it hosts Oklahoma at 1 p.m. inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
