Cowgirl Equestrian Places Second at Texas A&M

Oklahoma State's Equestrian team placed second in the first of two Hunter shows at Texas A&M University on Saturday. Oklahoma State finished with 31 points trailing home team Texas A&M by nine points. LSU finished third with 20 points.
Eight Cowgirls won their events on Saturday. Caitlyn Roberts finished first in Novice Flat B and earned Reserve High Point Rider honors for the day. In Novice Flat A teammate Whitney Holden placed finished first.
Kristin Dickerson and Lauren Brawdy also took home first place finishes in Novice Fences and Beginner Walk-Trot -Canter respectively. Returning National champion Lindsey Smith placed first in Intermediate Fences.
The Cowgirls also faired well in Walk Trot. Erin McDonald placed first in Advanced Walk Trot while teammate Michelle Amman won first place in Walk Trot. Ashley Holland finished first in Open Fences.
With today's show Texas A&M stretched their regional lead over Oklahoma State to 12 points. The Cowgirls will compete in the second Hunter show tomarrow at 8 a.m. in College Station, Texas at the N.W. 'Dick' Freeman Arena.
