Cowgirl Softball Inks Four During Fall Signing Period

Jeffery, a product of Stillwater, Okla., is an All-State, All-Region and two-time All-Conference selection. She had a .408 batting average and .708 slugging percentage at Stillwater High School. Jeffery also had 29 runs batted in and 29 runs scored.
“Tara played shortstop for Stillwater High and put up good numbers during her career,” stated head coach Margaret Rebenar. “We expect her to step in and contribute in a utility role.”
Rachel Johnson hails from Keller, Texas, and will play shortstop for the Cowgirls. She led Keller High School to a state championship and was named to the All-Texas State Tournament Team. During her junior season she had a .312 batting average and led the team with eight sacrifice bunts.
“Rachel plays on a very competitive summer team in Texas,” commented Rebenar. “We expect her to play an immediate role in the middle infield.”
A native of Tulsa, Okla., Marjorie Johnson led Bishop Kelly to two state championships. She is a four-time Metro Lakes All-Conference honoree and earned All-State honors her senior season. In three years at Bishop Kelly Johnson posted a 47-15 record, tossing 31 shutouts and 13 no hitters. She also had a a 0.23 ERA and 770 strikeouts.
“We have been watching Marjorie for several years,” said Rebenar. “She is an impact pitcher and one of the the top five pitching recruits in the nation.”
Walker, a transfer from Seminole State College, rounds out the Cowgirl newcomers. At Seminole High School, Walker was a four-time All-Conference and All-Region honoree. During her sophomore year at Seminole State, she had a .378 batting average and a team-leading 21 doubles.
“Rikki is a left-handed outfielder,” stated Rebenar. “She put up nice numbers at Seminole and will enhance our depth in the outfield.”
