Cowboy Runners Favored in District Meet
November 12, 2003 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
The Cowboys will be led by Senior Mindi Pukstas, who finished fourth overall at the conference meet, which was his first race for Oklahoma State. Senior Jason Woolhouse will also help to lead the charge for an Oklahoma State team that has high expectations. Junior Vish Sukmangal is battling injury, but will hopefully return to action for the Cowboys. The final spots on the team have not been decided yet and will be battled out between, senior Derek Tate, junior Scott Rantall, sophomore Sean McCabe, redshirt freshmen Ryan Ripley and Tyler Campbell and true freshman Brian Ehlis.
Last year was the first year in 10 that Oklahoma State did not make it to nationals, and they look to get things back on track this year as the top two teams at each regional meet will get an automatic bid to the national meet, which will be held in Cedar Falls, Iowa on Nov. 24.
The meet will be held at the Oklahoma State Cross Country Course, just north of Oklahoma State's campus, with the men's race starting at 11:00 a.m.
