Cowgirl Softballers Earn Academic Honors

Six Oklahoma State softball players have been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Scholar Athlete list for the 2002-2003 academic year.

Players receiving the honor are required to have a 3.5 grade point average for the spring and fall semesters.

Three Cowgirls, outgoing senior Lauren Bay and juniors Megan Carey and Erika Ennis earned the honor for the second straight year. First time honorees are senior Jade Lindly, junior Stephanie Nicholson and outgoing senior Brooke Siebel.

Oklahoma State led the Big 12 with six selections, followed by Texas (5), Iowa State (4), Nebraska (3), Baylor (2) and Kansas (1).
