Cowboys Head to Texas Looking for Big 12 Title
October 31, 2003 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
The Pokes will be led by senior Jason Woolhouse, who looks to improve on last year's third-place finish. Joining him will be a talented but inexperienced cast of runners, with only senior Derek Tate and junior Scott Rantall carrying conference meet experience.
Sophomores Marcus Hershberger and Sean McCabe, redshirt freshmen Tyler Campbell, Charlie Bromley, and Ryan Ripley, and true freshman Brian Ehlis could all figure into the Cowboys' top seven.
The Cowboys have faired well in the previous seven conference championship meets, finishing as high as second four times, from 1998-2001, but have never been able to dethrone Colorado, which has held the league crown since its inception in 1996.
Oklahoma State will return to action on November 15 when it hosts the Midwest Regional Championships.
