Cowboy Runners Earn Academic Honors
October 31, 2003 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
Five members of Oklahoma State's men's cross country team were named to the Academic All-Big 12 team, the league office announced Tuesday.
The Cowboys had three runners named to the first-team, including seniors Greg Rouault and Jason Woolhouse, and sophomore Marcus Hershberger. Rouault, a marketing graduate student, was one of only two nominees to have a 4.0 GPA.
The Pokes also had second-team selections, senior Chris McWatters and redshirt freshman Charlie Bromley.
To be eligible for first-team selection, student-athletes were required to have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better and have participated in at least 60 percent of their teams events. Seniors had to meet only the GPA requirements. Second-team honorees had a 3.0-3.19 GPA and the same participation standard.
