STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's soccer team opened its home schedule Friday night, shutting out Lousiana-Lafayette, 2-0, before 236 fans at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.
The Cowgirls jumped out to an early lead less than two minutes into the contest when Courtney Robb earned her first goal of the young season. Robb took a cross from Nikki Wojtowicz at the 1:56 mark and buried the ball in the left corner of the net.
One goal was enough to send OSU to the locker room with the lead due to a stifling Cowgirl defense that did not allow the Ragin' Cajuns to take a single shot in 45 minutes of play.
Wojtowicz picked up her second assist of the night, teaming up with Cassie Lewis at the 80:15 mark. Lewis scored her first goal as a Cowgirl off a Wojtowicz corner to seal the game thanks to the tough defensive play by Oklahoma State.
OSU dominated in the game; taking 10 corners while holding ULL to none and out shooting the visitors 20-2.
Goalkeeper Kat Doud picked up her first shutout of the season, posting one save in the effort.
Oklahoma State (3-0) returns to action on Sunday at 1 p.m. to face Stephen F. Austin at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.
