Cowgirl Soccer Shuts Out Drury, 2-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Oklahoma State's soccer squad scored two second half goals to defeat Drury, 2-0, here Sunday before 120 fans at Hutchens Field.
Despite outshooting the Panthers 7-0 in the first half of play, the Cowgirls were unable to take advantage and entered the locker room with nothing to show on the scoreboard.
In the second stanza, the offensive production came from two new sources, as Leah Carr and Joanne Edwards each scored their first goal of the season.
Carr scored the game winner at the 54:45 mark, taking a cross from Nikki Wojtowicz and heading the shot into the back of the net.
Nine minutes later, Edwards scored with a header of her own to give the Cowgirls some breathing room for the final 25 minutes. Jere Boykin gained her first assist of the season on the play.
Kat Doud posted her third shutout of the year to up her career total to 12 and take over sole possession of the top spot in the record books.
With the assist against the Panthers, Wojtowicz has eight on the season, just one shy of her season total (9) last year.
Oklahoma State (8-0) enters league play undefeated for the first time in program history, hosting the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.
